From the large menu boards offering more than a dozen chef -crafted salads (1/2 size $5.99. As soon as we walked in we knew something very different was happening. As a parting meal on the way the airport, we stopped at this location. Have you ever walked into a food service place for the first time and been surprised by what you see? Yup, that happened here. Any seafood item is made is imitation meat and the Pesto chicken sandwich is a chicken salad sandwich really. I'm still a fan of Café Zupas just a few words to wise. We left because we didn't want chicken salad, nor did we want fake crab meat on a sandwich. It's not necessarily a pesto chicken sandwich. Which means the Pesto Chicken Sandwich is really Chicken Salad with pesto spread on the bread. She said the almonds are mixed into the chicken, along with raisins. When it was my turn to order I asked if I could have the Pesto Chicken sandwich without almonds. I wanted to try the Crab Patty Melt this time. The guy asked if the Lobster Bisque was made with real lobster. Someone standing directly in front of me asked if the Crab Patty Melt had real crab meat. While visiting the Gilbert location over the weekend I decided to try something else because I noticed pictures for seasonal items. They also serve a variety of flavored teas and sodas. I'm a fan of Café Zupas because the combo is accompanied with a nice, juicy, sweet chocolate covered strawberry. My visit to the Gilbert location made me realize I never wrote a Yelp review on it. I've been to Café Zupas more times than I can count because I can walk to the Camelback location. I normally order the Turkey Spinach Artichoke Panni, California Turkey Sandwich, California Protein Cobb Salad, Kale and Quinoa Salad, Roasted Pepper Soup or the New England Clam Chowder. I am! However, I realized over the weekend while visiting this location that every time I've been to Café Zupas I've always ordered the same things.
